Mission Statement

The mission of the Salem Area Christian Home School Wiki is to bless Christian homeschool families (and others) in the Salem, Oregon, area by providing a free, user-created, user-editable resource. It is the contention of the SACHSN Wiki founders that Christian home education is not merely an educational option, but rather one component of a lifestyle which emphasizes the Godly home as the center of life. Two books which were instrumental in shaping our thinking are The Way Home and All The Way Home, both by Mary Pride. Therefore, while the focus of this wiki will be primarily on aspects of Christian home education, it will also have the flexibility to cover other topics of Christian home-centered life as well. Yes, it will be an eclectic collection of information, and hopefully one which will provide support and encouragement for many Salem area Christian homeschool families (and others) in the years to come! In the spirit of Titus 2 for younger women to learn from the older ones, in order not to have to "reinvent the wheel" more than necessary! :-)

Perhaps this wiki will serve as a model for other Christian homeschool support groups in other parts of the world as well. May the Lord bless this project, and make it a blessing to many! Feel free to contact us if you're interested in starting a wiki of your own.
